Tucson Elopement
San Pedro Chapel
Tucson, Arizona
Tucked away in the Historic Fort Lowell Neighborhood, in Tucson, Arizona, sits the cutest adobe chapel. San Pedro Chapel was built in 1932 by neighborhood residents, and still stands as a special place in the community.
The adobe building is draped in southwestern charm and surrounded by creosote bushes. Creosote releases a special scent in the rain, and the property smells like summer monsoons.
Prickly pear cacti and chollas run along the border—creating the most special place for a desert wedding.
When I began planning this intimate elopement, I wanted to celebrate the property. I wanted my design to feel modern, but still tied to the history of this special place. As a wedding planner, I always do my best to highlight the beauty already built into a venue. The design should never fight it’s surroundings.
This sweet couple had been married for three years. Their originally elopement was simple, and this was the perfect way to celebrate their third anniversary. The bride wore a beautiful wedding dress from Made with Love Bridal.
The couple shared a tender moment inside the historic chapel, framed by stunning pieces of southwestern art and dreamy light.
The bridal bouquet was a mixture of dark red roses, bleached fern, and peach ranunculus—tied perfectly with a silk cider colored ribbon.
The couple spent the moments following celebrating with sweet kisses and giggles in front of The San Pedro Chapel, as the sun set over the Catalina Mountains.
Before heading to their intimate reception, husband and wife strolled through the creosote bushes, hand-in-hand. Their bridal portraits were taken in the shadows of the cholla cacti.
Tucked away behind the chapel was an intimate reception, just for close family. Romantic red roses and candlelight were scattered across the lace draped table.
As the moon began to rise above the church, the couple shared a sweet dance under the cafe lights.
The entire day was intimate, personal, and full of love.
